Comments: When I was 17 I became pregnant although I never knew it. I was only 6
weeks along, when I'd experienced severe cramping and an extremely heavy period. I went to
the doctor's to find out what was wrong. That's when he told me I'd had a misscarriage.
The father of the child already had a daughter that wasn't quite a year old by another
girl and he'd lied to me about not still being with the mother. I'd broked up with him,
then discovered I'd been pregnant. He found out, and we had a HUGE fight. We haven't
spoken since. It's taken me a long time to recover, but finally, it's getting easier with
time. |

was 10 1/2 months old, born on July 24, 1997. We have a surviving sibling, Scott James,
who will be 4 in December. We all miss Joey so much. He died in day care and we believe he

as a result of my new found mother hood. One of my fears is SIDS. A cousin of mine came
close to dying of SIDS recently, she was sleeping and almost died in her crib, luckily my
aunt heard her daughter making noise on the baby monitor and woke her up almost too late.
My cousin was turning blue and gasping for breath. I too am scared of this Infant Death

been warned only because she had insisted placing me on a monitor. i think its
heartbreaking that a lot of people have heard of sids but they dont really know what it is

Comments: We lost our "baby doll," Amanda Danielle to SIDS. She was born
October 16, 1994 and passed on to heaven February 1, 1995. It is hard to believe that it
has been 3 1/2 years since her death. I watch other little girls at what would be her age
and try to imagine Mandy playing with them. Not a day goes by that I don't think about
her. I found a lot of comfort in a song by Twila Paris, "A Visitor from Heaven."
Continue this necessary work so that others will not have to suffer. |

Comments: I lost my son January 4, 1998 to SIDS. We planned this pregnancy. We were
able to concieve very quickly so we decided that I would have my tubes tied the day after
my son's birth. We have a 4 year old together and my husband has a daughter from his first
marraige. We thought we were making a responsible decision as we could not afford to be
financially responsible for more than 3 children. Now I would love to be able to have
another baby but my insurance company does not want to cover it. It is much more expensive
to have this reversed than it is to have it done. Of coarse, my insurance company did paid
to have the tulbal ligation performed. I guess I believed they would make an exception
since my husband and I did not plan for our baby to die. We have been through life's
biggest pain. We love and miss our little Jake so very much. If you have any ideas or
suggestions for me, please write. |

son died. Justin was born 7/17/91 and died 10/25/98. I never thought I would survive seven
days, never mind seven years, but I did, and I am now a facillitator for the Jacksonville,
FL SIDS support group. It seems an impossible task at first, but it can be done. There are

Comments: we lost our son august 6, 1969. at that time there wasn't a lot of
information available about sids and that made it even harder to understand and deal with.
thank god there's information and support groups such as this to help people deal with
this terrible experience. we went on with our lives, had more children and have reared
them to adults, however there there will always be a loss in our lives caused by the death

Comments: I have been surfing the net every since I lost my infant son
"Benjamin Parker Lane" to SIDS. I guess everyone is trying to find an answer why
perfectly healthy babies are dying for no reason. Benjamin was born February 11, 1998 and
died May 8, 1998. We miss him so very much. I am helping a couple of ladies plan the first
annual walk-a-thon in Charleston, West Virginia scheduled for this weekend, October 4,
1998. West Virginia does not have a SIDS support group right now, however, we have also
planned our first meeting schueduled October 31, 1998. We received so many registration
forms back in the mail from parents that have moved. I wish the different States would get
an address for the closest relative so that we could locate these parents some how. I just
want to help other parents in any way that I can. I remember people telling me after I
lost Benjamin, if there was anything at all they could do for me. The only thing I could
think of was Benjamin. If only they could bring my precious Benjamin back to me. I guess
before I lost Benjamin I thought I had problems. But after you lose a child you realize
how good you had it. The only problem I have know is that my heart is broke and it will
never be the same and I know that. No matter what I do. So the next best thing for me to
do is to help other parents in any way that I can. I have two other children that are also
great blessing and they keep me very busy. If I could tell parents one thing it would be
that the only thing that keep me going is knowing one day when I get to Heaven my precious
baby Benjamin will be the VERY FIRST FACE I WILL SEE greeting me. Oh I just can't wait
until that day. But for know, I have to go on for my two other children, my husband and
for myself. There are so many things a person can do to help other people and I believe
that is what the Lord wants me to do until I go to Heaven. I would love for anyone to
contact that lives in West Virginia if they need anything or if I can do anything for
them. Thank you. |

Comments: I cannnot seem to put into words the comfort I am finding here. I mourn
the death of Kate. I am her day care mom and she died while in my care 24Aug98. The pain
is so deep and the sense of responsibility so strong. The horrible day plays over and over
in my mind. At first it seemed as though time was making things better. Iknow now that I
was only in shock and denial. Day after day I waited for the police to come and take me
away. I thought surley it was my fault. I find myself deeply depressed and so afraid. She
was just shy of 7months, my son Ethan will be 6 months on Oct10th. I make myself sick with
fear that it will happento him. I feel angry this has happened to Kate's parents. She is
their first born child. Does this get better? I think I must be going crazy. Our lives are
changed forever. My children have all be deeply effected by this. They wintnessed
everything. I can still hear myself screaming. I thought maybe it would wake her up. I
suppose these things aren't right to put on here. I just find myself wanting to talk about
it and I'm not sure who wants to listen. Babies aren't supposed to die. Does anyone else
want to talk about it? |
