Comments: Hello, It has been 78 days since the death of our son, zackary Shane
Herkins. I am so sad today, I am sad every day. I miss him so much, my arms ache and heart
hurts. There is so much to grief, and all that comes with it. I wanted to mother my son. I
was ready to parent, for more than the 59 days that God allowed Life is sometimes so
unfair. My daughters miss their brother. My hisband is having a hard time with all these
"feelings" I want to shout to the world, and hide at the same time I want SIDS
to go away. I want doctors to talk to pregnant patients, before they tie their tubes. I

Comments: Today is exactly 4 years today that my Son (Quinnzelle Margolies-Reaves,
1/16/95 - 4/22/95) passed away. I was up at 1:02 this morning...the time the Death
Certificate said he'd died. I had attended the 1999 SIDS Alliance National Conference this
year...being a first-timer. There was a phrase that stuck: "When you lose a Parent,
You lose the Past; When you lose a Spouse, You lose the Present; When you lose a Child,
You lose the Future." The conference was AWESOME!!! It was a great learning
(self-developmental) experience, I did some self-evaluating and self-adjusting while I was
there and still throughout the course of time I will learn more and more to cope (not
forget) with the lost of my Son. My life will never be the same...my "void"
won't ever be replace (you can't replace a human being). My Quinn is so real, but can't be
touch--until I pass. Mother's Day is coming around the corner...I AM and ALWAYS will be A
MOTHER, but what do I have to show for it? I've got little stretch marks, I know I went
through the whole pregnancy bit, but no child to show for it. I am a Mother of a SIDS
baby. I have no other children, he was my first and only child. As for the weather: Today
is a beautiful day, sunny in the low 80's, I know when I look up in the sky My Quinnzelle
is smiling down on me. Bless Your Little Angels... (I'm sorry, I'm having/had a couple
mood swings and "moments" throughout this signing, I've really jumped from sad
to happy and vice-versa--which is too be expected.) Thanks for reading. |

doing my own research for a paper in my Adv. Comp/Lit class. I think that SIDS is a very
touching situation and parents and others should become aware of the complications that
SIDS causes. Most parents have heard about SIDS, but do not prepare themselves for what
may happen to their healthy infant. Even though SIDS can not be prevented, parents can
still try their best from letting it happen to their own child. |

Comments: Six years ago I watched as my aunt and uncle buried their first child,
Breanna at six months old from SIDS. Until then I had never even heard of it. How tragic
and devastating for my family. And there wasn't a thing I could do to help. As a healing
process for me and a tribute to my aunt and her daughter, I choreographed a piece at my
college (Michigan State) that showed the emotions a woman goes through when she loses her
child. The song was by Kate Bush, titled: "This Woman's Work." What an
unbelievable song, anyone who heals through words should find it. The piece debuted on May
2, my birthday and two days before what would have been Breanna's 5th birthday. The piece
was titled: "Goodnight Breanna." And my aunt was there to watch and cope. It was
the only thing I could think of to show her how much I care. I know my aunt was proud, and
I must say, it was the most emotional moment of my life. My aunt is now actively involved
with the SIDS chapter in Detroit and I know that she will be okay. I wish the best for
anyone who has had to deal with a death so unexplainable as one from SIDS. God Bless. |

sad, then mad again, then in shock, then sad again. It is like being on a rollercoaster,
that will not stop. I have two surviving siblings, Jessica, who is 11, and Alyssa who is
5. They too miss their new baby brother. Our son was so wanted, and sooo loved. Both my
husband and I had sterization done after his birth, and are considering reversal,
adoption, IVF... we are searching it all out. This web site has been both a blessing , and

interviewed to some magasines and have been on tv. Now I have made a homepage in Alex«s

Comments: I try to read the guestbook at least once a week. It makes me happy to
see so many people get the support they need. It also makes me sad to see so many new
people who have signed the guest book. I lost my first born son Schuyler on December 23rd,
1997. I refuse to accept that SIDS is unknown. How can so many babies die daily and no one
knows why. How in the world can the medical community clone a lamb, but they can't find
the cause of SIDS. This is a wonderful website, but I get so angry every time I read it.
Schuyler has a new baby sister who is now 5 months old. The Easter bunny brought her a TY
Beanie Bear named "Skylar". It's little tag says "the sky is the
limit" I thought it was the perfect gift to give to her for her first Easter. I
remember how hard this day was for me last year. I sat at home and cried all day, because
it is such a big day for family, as all other holidays, and my family had been ripped
apart. I must say this Easter was much more cheerful, but I will never forget my sweet
little Schuyler. Anyone interested in talking - please e:mail me. I could ramble on in
this guest book all day. |

passed away from SIDS, May 17, 1998. He was 3 months and 12 days old. I named him Isaac
because, Isaac was Abraham's long awaited son, and Max was my long awaited son. Isaac
means "laughter or he laughs". I have created a website, so everyone in the
world can see his beautiful face, and know how much we LOVE and MISS him. My arms ache to
