Our First Birthday In Heaven

written by Julie Aird in memory of Julie and Jamey Aird's newborn twin sons, Joshua and Jacob Aird. They were born prematurely on March 10th 1995 and lived only one day.

It's our first birthday in Heaven,
what a joy to partake.
Our presents are flowers and rainbows
and angel food cake.

Our cribs are decorated with roses
and glitter.
And the stars that shine upon us
make everything shimmer.

The angels are dancing and
singing us songs.
Soon Jesus will be joining us.
It won't be long.

We'll all gather and pray
for our loved ones on earth
who love us and miss us
since the day of our birth.

You see, birthdays in Heaven
are full of happiness and cheer.
We celebrate with our loved ones
who preceeded us here.

Please don't be sad anymore
we've been at peace for one year.
Just love us and pray for us,
and shed not another tear.

Yes, birthdays in Heaven
are beautiful and gay.
One day we will celebrate together,
for this moment Mommy and Daddy we pray.
