Web site tribute to Rachel and Justin

Thanks for visiting our web site tribute to Rachel and Justin. We are Karen and Jonathon Andell of Phoenix, Arizona. Our first child, Rachel Lorraine, lived from July 13, 1994 to October 10, 1994. Perhaps you would like to see her photos on the "Pictures of Love" pages in this web site.

Rachel's life was a blessing to us, and her death left our home feeling terribly empty, so we decided to try to have another child. It wasn't easy conceiving, but finally, Justin Nathaniel was born on June 4, 1997.

In his eighth day, we celebrated the Jewish "Bris" ceremony of circumcision. Aside from some butterfly nerves anticipating the experience, we think it went well. (Luckily, our pediatrician of choice also is a Jewish "Mohel", so the medical aspects were accounted for. Also, anesthesia WAS used.)

The following two prayers:

KAREN'S PRAYER ON HIS HEBREW NAME and

JONATHON'S PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE RAISING OUR SON;

were part of the recitations during the ceremony. I believe that their content will suffice to explain why this material is included in a SIDS discussion.

Also, I know that many visitors to this web page have different religious views. Please know that no disrespect is intended toward any other outlook.

Again, thank you for helping keep Rachel's memory alive.
