Jamie Marie

I've read all of the stories, tributes, etc. on infant loss and wanted to contribute a poem of my own to my little girl, Jamie Marie, who was delivered stillborn on 1/31/96. Thank you.

Some believe you never lived
because you never let out that first cry

I know you lived
because I felt your every movement within me

Some believe I should forget you
because they yearn for the person I once was

I know I will never forget you
because your short existence has forever altered me

Some believe I am not a parent
because my child was born silent

I know I am a loving mother
because my arms ache to hold you again
