My Nephew

Hello. My name is Lorena Garcia and my 15-month-old nephew died of SIDS on October 25, 1996. He was a healthy, happy, and very much loved baby. He was asleep, and my sister noticed that he slept late that morning, and when she went in to wake him, she found him in the crib, not breathing. As my brother- in-law held him my sister made the call to 911, and managed to give him CPR. When the paramedics came, they were able to get a very weak heartbeat from him. When he arrived at the hospital they worked on him, but unfortunately they were unable to save him.

I remember waiting for them at their house, after finding out what had happened. It was a rainy Friday, and the worst day of my family's life. Well, my sister has an eighteen-month-old daughter that she keeps on a monitor while she sleeps. It gives her a little piece of mind. Though she loves and enjoys her daughter (Cristina) very much, she still thinks of Louis Emanuel every day, and will every day of her life. He was a very sweet and loving little boy. The thought of him being gone forever from our lives brings tears to my eyes. We will remember him in our hearts.
