Dedicated to my son, Ethan Theodore Haland, who died in the womb at 31 weeks and was born still December 2, 1996. We love and miss you little boy!

"Eclipse"

Only a tiny sliver of light remains
the rest is in shadow
the glory of bright happiness
eclipsed by my shadow of grief.
Your face is obscured.
I know you're there, son,
but I can barely make you out.
This eclipse will take a lifetime.
