The still of dawn on Christmas morning
Was shattered by her screams.
That thief called SIDS without a warning,
Stole all our hopes and dreams.

My firstborn grandchild suddenly gone
From our watchful,loving care.
The picture of our future redrawn
Without Carson being there.

Oh, how we miss you little man
With your loving eyes so bright!
Although your life had such a brief span,
You brought us much delight.

You'll always be Gran's "first", it's true;
My love cannot depart.
In heaven God watches over you
And you live within my heart.
