Three Angels In Heaven, Two on Earth

by Teresa Peavler

Date: Sun, 20 Aug 2000

I am so glad I found this forum. It's been years since I had my last
miscarriage, but the pain is still there everyday. I got pregnant the
first time in Sept. of 1989. I was 22 and so happy!! I didn't even get
to go to my first checkup when I started to bleed. It was Thanksgiving
day November 23, 1989. I went to the hospital where the doctor
confirmed I was having a miscarriage. He did a D&C and I went home with
an empty heart. I really think I lost y mind after that miscarriage.
My marriage ended in 1991. I met a wonderful man that summer and we
moved in together. Imagine my surprise when I found out I was pregnant
again. All was not to be. I lost that baby on November 21, 1991. Two
days shy of the second anniversary of losing my first baby. I didn't
have a D&C that time and I started passing big blood clots. I went to
another doctor and she gave me a prescription to make the bleeding stop.
In January 1992 I got pregnant again. I went to a different doctor since
my other doctor seemed unconcerned that I had already lost two babies.
Everything seemed to be going great!!! The only problem seemed to be
the baby didn't want me to hear it's heartbeat!! The doctor said that
he could hear it moving away from him. But he definitely heard
movement. I went to New Mexico with my mom, sister and future
brother-in-law. During that time my sister felt my baby move. Well, I
got back and that night I started to bleed. I went to the hospital and
they said everything was fine. I went to my doctor the next day and he
told me to stay off my feet. Luckily he had taken me off work earlier
so I could stay off my feet. Well, two weeks later the spotting finally
stopped. For two weeks. Then I started to bleed again. Bright red
blood. I knew it was over then. My doctor had went out of town so my
old doctor had to perform the D&C. He told my husband he didn't know
what was wrong with me, I just needed to go to a specialist. How's that
for compassion? So, three attempts and three failures. I finally went
to a specialist in another town. He told me I didn't produce enough
progesterone. I went to see him January 28, 1994. I got pregnant again
around February 19, 1994. My husband was less than happy. I started
taking progesterone suppositories that month until I was 13 weeks
pregnant. I was so happy the first time I heard the heartbeat!!!! It
was a fairly smooth pregnancy, except for the all day sickness. On
November 22, 1994 I went into labor. I went to the hospital and 12 1/2
hours later on November 23, 1994 I gave birth to my son. Exactly 5
years to the day that I had my first miscarriage!!!! One of my saddest
days turned into one of my happiest days!!!! Then 51/2 weeks later I
got pregnant again!!! Could I do it again?? I did and on October 3,
1995 we welcomed our beautiful daughter came into the world. We stopped
at two children and thanked God for giving them to us. I still miss the
babies I lost and I pray one day I'll see them in Heaven and that
they'll know me and love me. Thank you for listening to my story. T
