Remembering Sunshine

I remember
Sunshine you shed on our lives,
The brightness of your love shining through.
And yet remembering brings...
Amidst the clouds of grief and pain,
Rays of light
Dappled with shadow...
Darkness mixed with
Dazzling light.
Remnants of storm clouds
On the horizon,
Memories of the torrents
And darkness
And grief of loss
In years past.

And now,
Remembering brings
A gentle shower,
Soft and sad..
But dappled with your glorious light
Laughter mingled with tears
The memory of you....
Shining in my heart..
In my life.
In my soul.
