This has been devastating

My husband and I are in our early 20's and very fit. I got married and after
7 months of trying for a child together (we each have one from previous
relationship) I finally got pregnant in January 1999. My cousin had called
me the wk before crying because she just found out she was having her 2nd
child- unexpected. She did not want to be pregnant. The following week I had
2 dreams one was me giving birth and the 2nd was a beautiful little boy about
4 who was my son. It seemed so real. I could actually see my husband and I 's
features and he was built like my husband. IT WAS SO REAL! A few days later
I found out I was Pregnant in Jan. I was crying so hard from happiness. The
flu was going around and the day I found out the aches of flu had set in. My
husband is not an emotional man and when I told him I was pregnant he was
ecstatic. 3 days later after feeling like I had been run over and running a
102 fever for 3 days I woke up and finally felt good. But I woke up to a
puddle of blood. I miscarried. I felt responsible because I got sick. Then in
June I got pregnant and my doctor was going to check my progesterone level &
They put my high risk pregnancy appt. off for over a week. I was not happy
because that was pushing my time frame to carry. Sure enough 2 days before my
apt. I started to spot- no cramps. I called my doctor and she said I would be
fine to wait unless I started cramping go to ER if the office was closed. I
asked her for progesterone and she said to wait. The day of appt. I had
severe cramps and bleeding. I went in and the Doctor had to ask me all these
questions about this baby & if I was regist. @ hospital yet etc.. Questions she
should not of asked me knowing that I was prob. miscarrying. She gave me
ultra-sound and confirmed I was having another miscarriage & tried to get out
of the room in a flash! I stopped her and asked her about my Progesterone
Levels to be checked and she said, "Yeah, that's prob. what's wrong. NEXT
time we'll get you in IMMEDIATELY and give you progesterone." LIKE OH-WELL!
She treated my baby like a fish that died, ok she'll just run down to the
store and replace it with a new one! What a terrible experience! I had to
make her give me a lab pass and insisted those levels be tested! Right then
and there I got a referral to a SPECIALIST and had all my records sent to his
office. Sure enough my progesterone level was at 1.0 normal is 25. I believe.
Progesterone is essential to maintain pregnancy. My specialist told me to not
get PG & wait 3 cycles and come in for HSG. 7 months passed I still did not
get preg. so I had the test done and everything was fine. I had blood tested
for Lupus, thyroid etc.. FINE as well. Then I had to come in & get my lining
scraped and sent out for testing of hormone levels. The culperate
PROGESTERONE. This has been devastating. Knowing that my babies could of been
fine if I had only known. Now, I am so scared to get PG again. Hopefully we
can get PG again and this time carry to term. Thanks for your stories.
