I felt joy and fear combined
But I sighed a grateful breath
As we learned the date you would arrive -
November 30th.

We’d lost another months before
Due on August 1st
But with faith and courage we looked forward to
November 30th.

I thought for sure this time was ours
We would know you before death
We’d at last be void of empty arms
On November 30th.

In my mind I saw your face:
I held you in my warm embrace
I’d felt such joy and sweet solace
On November the 30th.

But…

Today your little heart stood still
So many dreams left unfulfilled
They tell me it was all God’s will…

We’ll make it through this latest test
Our hearts and faith both laid to rest
And I’ll cry more tears as the day draws near – 

November 30th.
