Sparrows

I once had three sparrows who lived in my nest,

One learned to thrive while the others yearned rest.

My two little sparrows one day took flight,

Without warning or reason in darkness of night.

They fly through the clouds in the sky well above,

The people and places of those they still love.

The one little sparrow who decided to stay,

Grew stronger and wiser with each passing day.

The strength and the courage the sparrow did find,

Came from the memories and love he kept in his mind.

Of the two little sparrows who once shared his nest,

They'll be with him forever, even in rest.
