Welcome to the SIDS mailing list! The Discussion Area for SIDS Related IssuesThe SIDS mailing list is a place to discuss issues related to SIDS. It is similar, yet better, than the older electronic bulletin boards you may have heard about. Why is it better? Because when you join the mailing list, the "conversations" which happen are delivered to you via email, rather than you having to go get them. When you place a message on the mailing list, that message is delivered to everyone else who belongs to the mailing list. You can reach the SIDS mailing list via the SIDS Information Web Site address, (http://sids-network.org). To participate in the SIDS mailing list, you have to use two different email addresses. One accepts and delivers our messages. The other email address is used to manage the mailing list. The email address that accepts and delivers our messages is sids@eartha.mills.edu. This is the e-mail address you must use to send a message so others can get it. In order to belong to the mailing list, you must send some messages to the computer program that manages this mailing list. That program uses the e-mail address of listproc@eartha.mills.edu. One of the common mistakes made with these mailing lists is sending a message to the wrong address. If you try to post a message for others to see to listproc@eartha.mills.edu, others will not receive that message. If you try to manage the mailing list by sending a command to sids@eartha.mills.edu, it will not work. Easy steps to join this mailing list
If you get really stuck, send email to balzer@ella.mills.edu. The SIDS mailing list is maintained at Mills College, Oakland, California, USA. Thanks to several people for setting this mailing list up: * Ned Balzer, SIDS parent (his son Willie died at the age of four months on March 10, 1993) We hope this mailing list benefits many people.
