to not be able to help her out or even to understand why this happened. My father had a
brother die of it and it is just so hard to understand. My heart goes out to all families

I didn't and it was a very tough year. They wouldn't let me have a monitor. I was told he

to say that if and or when you get to Heaven you will see them again they will always be
your child and they are waiting for you in Heaven. GOD has blessed us with four wonderful
children and it saddens my heart to know that they have to grow up in this world with all
the evil that becomes more apperent each and every day.I'm a Paramedic and have seen too
many children that haven't made it but it is GOD's ultimate decision and I respect his
wishes. thanks for putting this page on the net so that people might be able to vent.
Remorse is part of the healing process but venting seems to help thanks again. Ricky

only been at day care for three days. He was born June 10th. autopsy said SIDS. I have
been looking for some sort of answers on-line and found my way here. The funeral is
Saturday and I needed some help finding out how to cope when I see them. This loss seems
to encompass so many emotions, yet every spoken word seems so very inadequate. Do you have
any suggestions for supporting your friends when they have lost a child to SIDS. We have
been friends practically forever. I have a daughter who is 10 months old. How do I handle
that? Thanks for having the sight available. It's been a great comfort. |

the nerve to search for it. My first son David Michael, was born on June 11, 1988. On
November 1, 1988, He was as healthy as the day is long, and this day, while at his
babysitters house, he went to sleep, and didn't wake up. The night he died, at the
Hospital, I got to hold him, and I felt like a major part of my life was gone! Burying a
child is the hardest thing a parent can do! I have a portion of my web site that is
dedicated to Him, and the awareness of this horrible problem, Sudden Infant Death
Syndrome.

Comments: We lost our son, Derek David at 18 weeks of pregnancy in Jan. of '96.
Labor was induced after discovering that he was gone. Autopsy report stated 2 causes:
1-True knot in cord and 2-Maternal Floor Infarction of the placenta. As if that wasn't
enough pain to endure, we then lost our daughter, Samantha Jo @ 33.5 weeks of pregnancy,
in Jan. of this year. Her autopsy report stated--Maternal Floor Infarction of the
placenta. After all kinds of tests, we still don't know why my body choses to do this to
our precious babies. We are planning to try again, having been given a 50% chance of
having a sucessful pregnancy. We DESPERATELY need to know if there is anyone who has had
this same problem and if it is possible to have the child that we so very much desire. Our
local SHARE group is wonderful, but nobody there has had this type of loss--not to mention
2 loses just inside of a year. Anyone please e-mail us with words of wisdom, or support!!

forget things, cry, and am trying very hard to convince myself to keep going. Someone said
it was for the best (because he had infantile spasms, CP, feeding tube), and I hate that

I chose no heroic measures. That's hard too trying not to second guess. But he'd had so
much pain and medical interventions. What a mess. So I want this private only to other

weeks. A specialist I talked with thinks my son died of "cord compression". I
have found this sight to be very helpful to me, and have gained much strength from reading
other's stories. I welcome any comments or suggestions regarding the death of my son. I
miss him very much. Today is the 4 month anniversary of his death, and it has been a very
long road. Connor was my 6th pregnancy, and a much wanted child. We only have one living
child, a little girl who is 3 now. We are trying for another baby now, but the chances of
getting pregnant don't look very promising. Life is so unfair sometimes. I hope when I get
to Heaven one day, it will be filled with books that I can look through and read, and find
out all the answers to all the questions I always wanted to know. I will get to hold my
little baby and tell him how much him mommy misses him, and loves him. You can visit my

had a baby in Jan. On Feb. 3rd at 3 weeks of age, her baby died of SIDS. The baby was
sleeping on his father and the father woke up and noticed the baby was cold. He realized
the baby wasn't breathing and called 911--the baby didn't make it. I had my son on
2/28--just weeks after this happened. My life and outlook was changed that day, Feb. 3rd
when my friend's son died, and now she is not sure if she wants another baby. I would love

pain to the back of my head, cause I had a wedding to plan. Now, I can't do that anymore.
I feel so empty inside, I want to get pregnant now, but my husband wants to wait till Nov.

now we are arguing constantly. He doesn't understand how much it means to me to have a
baby now. My husband is the best husband, but we are having problems now because of my
depression. I don't know what to do anymore, cause now I have no will to get out of bed.
Also, to pour salt on the wound, my sister is pregnant and I have 2 friends pregnant, one

when all I want is what they have right now growing inside them? |

wonderful thing your organization is doing. No parent should have to go through what my
ex-wife and I did. Keep up the good work. John Skinner |

Comments: I am in Houston and recently had a friend that lost a child to SIDS. It
affected me profoundly, my heart aches for her. Not only did she loose her child but she
was a single mother and at the time of the childs death was arrested until the autopsy was
preformed. I was so angered and upset for her; I am glad that you are here to help those
of us whose lives are touched by this. |

Comments: Hello my name is Sheri Madaris and am a mother of five children. Two of
my children have significant medical problems. I would like for you to go see a web site.
This site is important to anyone that has a child within their family, especially a sick
child. There are parents all over the world being held "hostage" due to their
child's medical problems. I hope that you will consider making this a link or pass it on
to others in order to warn parents. Please read " Profiles" very carefully.
Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Sheri Madaris M.A.M.A. http://www.msbp.com/ |

under four and are struggling with our youngest who will be five months old this month.
Cameo has a problem where she stops breathing for what the doctors have no apparent
explanation. We have been given the suggestion from The SIDS Alliance out of Baltimore, MD
that she may have Apparent Life Threatening Episodes (ALTE). Where do we go to help her? |

SIDS Survival Guide" by Joani Hoerchler. Emily is going to be a big sister in Jan
'98. I would love to hear from anyone who has lost a child in a similar manner. Emily
would be one yr old 8-15-97. Mommy & Daddy forever love and miss you!!!! |

Comments: New Zealand - My partner and I lost our precious little girl Samantha
Jane at 18 weeks. We went for the scan and were told very sad news she had very severe
Spina Bifida and Brain Damage. They said she was not going to make it full term and said
the best thing to do was to be induced. On April the 3rd 1997 she was born she was a
beautiful little girl, the girl i had always wanted We have a little boy 3 1/2 years old
and I don't think i would of been able to cope if I didn't have him. They say the reason
for her sickness was lack of folic acid. I am now on Folic acid supplements daily and
trying for another baby. I would love to here from others who have been in this situation.
Please email me. Good luck to everyone. |

Comments: I live in Southern California with my wonderful husband & 4 year old
son. Our precious baby girl/baby sis, Lauryn Alexa, died July 16, 1997 of SIDS. She was so
happy & healthy. She was only 4 months 10 days old. We all really miss her a lot!!!!!!
She just brightened up our days with her beautiful smile & face. Right now, we're just
trying to understand & take one step at a time. Every single day, I wake up & say,
"Thank you so very much Lauryn for bringing so much joy, laughter & love into our
lives....We'll never forget you & we'll always love you!!!!!!!!" It has been
truly tough, but we must pledge on so that some day we'll be together again in that Happy
Land called Heaven. Thanks for letting me share! Take Care & May God Bless You! |
