Comments: We lost our beautiful daughter Allison Brooke to
SIDS Nov.16,1995. Allison was one week away from 9 months. Allison was the result of two
years of infertility, we felt truly blessed when she was born 3 days before her mother's
birthday. We have since been blessed with a son, it was discovered two weeks after her
funeral that we were expecting.For anyone who has other children after experiencing SIDS,
we would highly recommend the use of an apnea monitor, it truly was a relief to us to know
that if anything was to happen to our new baby that we would be alerted, it also helps you
to get some sleep that I don't know we would have otherwise gotten. A SIDS death is so
frustrating, because you have nothing to blame, no reason as to why it happened, your
first warning is a baby that is not breathing. God bless all of you that have had to go
through this. I look forward to the day we hold our little angels again, until then they
have the best babysitter ever, remember Jesus has a rocking chair (if you have not heard
that song it is very reassuring). |

Comments: We just got back our daughter's autopsy and it
said she had blood alchol=0.02gram%. What is this? The only thing we had given her was
Children Tylonal, because the doctor told us to. She had her first shots the day befor she
died. did we do something wrong? Did I cause her to die? I'm about to go nuts does anyone
out there know what I'm saying? Why did it come back with alchol? Even if it's not even
enough to show up on a tooth pick, what in the #@#is it doing in my baby? I heard there is
something in a body that makes a little bit of this show up. Is this true? Can anyone help

Last Sept. I had a SIDS death of a beautiful baby boy that was just here for 2 days. I
could really use someone to talk to that has possibly experienced the same. Most the
people around me have forgotten....I, of course, have not. Baily's death continues to

1997. I never thought something like this would ever happen. I still think about him every
day, and miss him just as much as I always have. Those of you that are married please try
to hang in there and try to turn to each other for comfort. My marriage fell apart after
our son died, because he didn't feel that he could talk to me. But, always remember that
your spouse is the only one who can say "I know how you feel" because they lost

Comments: My neice, Shannon died on the night of 9th
February 1998, she was 2 years and 4 months old. My sister-in-law took her into her own
bed around 9pm as she was fretful and crying. My Sister-in law woke at midnight to find
Shannon dead in her arms. SIDS was listed as the cause of death and we were all very
stunned. One normally expects to feel safe when a child reaches 1 year and it is common
not to worry so much with regard to sleeping positions. Like many many others, I am angry
and upset that researchers only feel it necessary to investigate SIDS in younger children
as it is now apparent that this also effects the older child and not just babies. I hope
soon there will be an answer to the question "why". |

24 1994. I have a tremendously difficult time speaking about the loss of my son because I
become very emotional. My ex wife has been the president of the Utah chapter. this seems
to have helped her deal with the grief. We are both re married and are going on with our

Reaves-Margolies, my Son, born January 13, 1995, passed away April 22, 1995 of SIDS. Is it
amazing what you take for granted? "You never know what you have until it is
gone." It still hurts, pieces always seems to be missing. I look at life at a
different angle. I now look in the sky and smile, knowing my first-born son is looking and
watching over me. His Grandpas and other family members are teaching him, growing and
learning lots, just as I would be teaching him, if physically he was down here. He would
always be, "...My Little Man..." I realize throughout these past couple of
years: I don't blame God. I don't "hate." I didn't deserve it (NO one deserves
it) - trust me, I've heard it all, after Quinn passed. Buried Father at 17, buried Son at
22. NOW!!! I'm stronger, more confident, and my decisions will always be mine, but yet at
times, more alone than ever... I look back (all the memories), see his beautiful face, and
every thing else seems so irrelevant. Seven and a half months of Labor, only three and a
half months of Life. It seems so unfair, doesn't it? I love him, I miss him! I feel for
everyone who has lost. Be patient, you'll be stronger, you'll learn priorities, to
appreciate: Life in itself!!! And, "Time (and FAITH) is the Ultimate Healer."
I'm finally seeing a light of hope (took me so long), finding a "Peace of Mind."

healthy and had no problems. That morning when I checked on him, he felt cold, too cold.
That was the worst moment in my life. I had heard of SIDS but thought that it was
