Dear Mommy,
Today is Mother's Day
And because I love you
I thought I'd let you know
That on the day I died
I cried too.
I cried when at first I realized
The voices I'd come to know
I would never again get to hear
Oh I loved those voices so
Although Heaven is supposed to be happy
It made me cry
Because my mommy was down on Earth
And I was stuck in the sky
And when, late at night
You cried because I was not there
You don't know how sad it made me
To not be able to be there
Nobody likes to see their mommy sad
Whether the distance between them be near or far
And when you, my mommy, are sad
I wish to reach out to where you are
To reach out and give you a hug
To tell you "it will be all right"
To give you a soft kiss
When I go to sleep at night
But Mommy, dear Mommy
Let me tell you
The things you take for granted
And what I mean for you
When you look to the stars at night
I am looking back at you
And every time you see a flower
I am saying "I love you"
And every time it rains
I am crying
For I wish to be at home with you
Remember always, my Mommy
When I died
I cried too
From your angel with love,
Alex
